Congressman Rouda Votes to Protect 1.8 Million U.S. Jobs

This afternoon, Congressman Harley Rouda (CA-48) voted to pass H.R. 4863, a bipartisan bill to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank. The Export-Import Bank helps create and sustain 1.8 million American jobs by financing products and services made in the USA. H.R. 4863 increases the bank's financing capacity and reforms the agency to greater serve small businesses. The bill passed with two Rouda amendments.

Said Rouda, "The Export-Import Bank of the United States has supported over $57 million in export value in our district alone. EXIM provides Americans with the tools they need to remain competitive on the global business stage, and I am proud to support its passage and protect American jobs. My amendments ensure that all Americans, regardless of who they are or who they love, can access the tools needed to jumpstart their American Dream and contribute to our economy."

Amendment 1: Adds sexual orientation and gender identity to the Agency's Office of Minority and Women Inclusion standards for workforce diversity.

Amendment 2: Adds LGBTQ-owned businesses to the United States Export Finance Agency's small business outreach plan.
